Last Friday (27/5) hundreds activists and local residence joint the demonstration organized by ‘Solidarity’ against the expansion of the settlement in Ras El-Amud neighborhood and in support of the ongoing Jewish-Arab struggle against the settlement and the oppression in other areas of Jerusalem. The demonstration stood at the gate to the settlers’ fortified compound.

Despite the violence we encountered, from the settlers themselves, their private security company and Jerusalem’s police, the hundreds demonstrators stood firm in their protest and remained persistent  in their struggle against yet another new settlement in East Jerusalem. During the demonstration 6 activists got arrested, 10 were injured, 5 of which needed medical care.
