The police also have a “price tag”

Sometimes the settlers don’t have to exert themselves. This week I witnessed one of the Palestinian residents being arrested by the police for spitting on the sidewalk, after he was photographed by one of the settlers.

A settler present there remarked to another “I’m very proud of the police, they do our work for us”.

They have especially decided to go after the leaders of the Residents’ Popular Committee. One of them was arrested for “harassing a female settler”. The court set the price tag: his bail terms were: being distanced from the neighbourhood for a two weeks; 1000 Shekels in cash and an additional bail bond for 4000 NIS. In addition the police are looking for another one of the leaders on the same charge, in order to break the resistance.

We will not be broken by them! Please help us to win this struggle (check out the “What can I do? ” section here.)
