This week’s demonstration underscored the growing violence on the part of settlers in Sheikh Jarrah. In recent weeks, settlers used their M-16 rifles to intimidate their Palestinian “neighbors” on two separate occasions. The demonstrators held posters depicting one of these incidents and signs reading: “Jerusalem shall not be Hebron”, and “Put an end to settlers’ violence in Sheikh Jarrah”.
